

PanicKnocking at the door. You want to invite it in but you're scared. You stand, staring at the door, uncertain as to what to do. A trio of knocks brings you to the door, you hand to the handle. Another knock and your heart leaps into your throat, chocking you, preventing you from drawing breath. Sliding down you Cower. Afraid. Your life, you are sure, is at risk. Wishing now for it only to go away. To leave you alone. To pass without seeing or noticing your presence. A final knock! More thunderous and demanding than the ones before it. It knows you are there. Afraid. It won't leave until you acknowledge it. It overcomes you and finally you succuPanic


Hermit CrabMy shell is too small for me. You know that cramped feeling you get inside an elevator? I know that feeling. I feel it every day. I'm cramped inside the restraints of my own personality. Have you ever watched a hermit crab? When a hermit crab decides to stretch it extends feelers and antennae first. The lightest touch, even a passing glance, and quick as a flash it withdraws back into its shell for a very long time, until it feels safe again. Sometimes there is no passing glance and finally after waiting for a long time, an invisible timer beeps and the hermit crab comes out of its shell. LoveLove: What is it? What does it feel like? Society and past experience has told me that love consist of a strict commitment and that it you must feel meet certain conditions and requirements if you want to love. Separating the socially accepted word/feeling/-commitment- from what I truly feel isn't easy. Television, media, examples from parents, and my pre-teen and teen peers are all the experience I have with love. So now I'm ready to find out on my own but the word love and its image are so warped that I can't even tell which one was mine.Love

PainPain. Pain is a bittersweet emotion, it is not entirely unpleasant. Some can tolerate it, most cannot stand for it, and a few grow to like it. There are many pains a person can experience; loss, tragedy, abandonment, sadness, desperation, and grief. However, experiencing pain is part of being a human. Now matter how far in pain you are, always remember I am human. And I wouldn't want to be anything else. Pain is a humanity check, it affects everyone differently, but it reminds us we are human.Pain
